The Latin American continent is basically composed by a variety of ecological habitats. Countries like Panama, Colombia, Venezuela and Brazil have an amazing ecological diversity, which is today in a very dangerous situation that is the result from the pollution in water, earth and air. If this problems are not solved in a effective and fast way consequences are more radical than we can thought.
The majority of countries that have this polluting problems is because the control that the big social elites have over their governments. Countries like Peru which the biggest ecological problem in Peru is the gold mines. The gold mines in Peru are generating big amounts of mercury (Hg) emissions. (PUNMA www.ecoportal.net). In Colombia we have the same problem as Peru but the extraction of gold is basically more motivated to produce the mercury (Hg). In the other hand we have that in Brazil environmental problems go further than just a gold mine. The biggest problem in Brazil is the tree felling or deforestation in the Amazon jungle. This has a big effect by destroying the habitat of hundreds and hundreds of endangered species. The number of endangered bird species in Brazil is the second in the world (103 species). (Gustavo Gonzalez www.tierramerica.net). Brazil faces another major environmental problem that is the pollution in their waters. This type of pollution the majority of time is caused by the use of quemicals for the agriculture, which are conduced by the rains and are disolved in the channel of the rivers. By this process the quemical emissions of agriculture quemical products end up stoking in the water press, and as a conclusion various native villages are reported with big disease caused by this pollution.
At the moment we can say that the water pollution in Brazil is the most dangerous, because is affecting two environments, the environment of the species that leave in those waters and those who drink of those waters, and in the other hand is affecting the native people of the rain forest that does not have a clue of what is producing those big disease.
These environmental problems are the reality that is behind the natural resources in Latin American. These problems are manipulated the majority of time by the big social elites that have control over the government. Such manipulation is the result of the hunger of power and control that many people have beyond the laws of many different countries. The normal citizen is aware of the problem on these countries by the different associations and groups that are against of the pollution and destruction of our environment. The biggest problem is that we think that the destruction of the environment is not a problem of everyone on the contrary those problem concern everyone, because natural resources are from everyone, air, water and soil is for everyone, so what’s the point, do we have to let the elites to do every thing with the natural resources of everyone? Sadly that is the true and the most tragic part is that we are going to recognize it when is too late.
